Katko is the student organisation for students studying educational sciences in the University of Turku. Members of Katko can be easily recognized wearing red overalls at different events.
Katko organizes different kind of activities for its members. The happenings differ from culture and sports to wellbeing and parties. The biggest events of the year are Kastajaiset (the traditional party for the freshmens in the beginning of an semester), pre-Christmas party and May Day. Exchange students are warmly welcomed to all of our events!
Katko isn’t there for you just for organizing leisure events for your student time, but also to oversee your rights during your studies. To do this Katko does cooperation with the department and faculty staff. Our head organisation Index offers the opportunity to keep in touch with the students who study in the Faculty of Social Sciences. Katko does also cooperation with Opex, the student organisation for students who study to be school teachers.
In addition, we also have an office that can be found on the 4th floor of Educarium – the office is open on the first Tuesday of the month from 11:45 to 12:15. Welcome!
